- Racing Is Not Training – In a race the aim is to perform to your best, not to train for adaptations. Your fueling strategy should reflect this truism.
- Calculate your expected energy expenditure and have an idea of your personal fueling equation
- Prioritize replenishing glycogen and protein, your fat stores are already plentiful, and your ability fuel from fat is already predetermined by your day to day nutrition and training; endogenous fat consumption will do very little to change that during the course of a race.
- Use whatever in-race foods and supplements you find work for you!
